suspension and rear multi-link suspension systems use coil springs

Managed
by an advanced 4-channel, Multi-Mode ABS computer incorporating an
Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) system, the front disc and
rear drum-in-disc brakes will keep you in control. The EBD system
modulates each channel's braking force independently, making sure
you come to a quick and safe stop regardless of cargo load or road
conditions.

Safety
Even if you have Montero's handling and braking to keep you out of
emergencies, the other driver may not. For these situations, Montero
complements the 3-point ELR seatbelts with both front and side SRS
airbags for driver and front passenger. And of course, for total peace
of mind and optimum safety, you should always wear your seatbelt.
A
definitive attention to passenger safety is reflected such as the
SRS side airbags, which deploy in the ideal position regardless of
seat settings, the extra bright discharge-type headlamps and the centrally
positioned fuel tank to minimise the chance of leakage in a collision,
to name but a few.
